The Gordon Research Conferences (GRC) provide an international forum for the presentation and discussion of cutting-edge research in the biological, chemical, and physical sciences, as well as other related fields. GRC holds approximately 160 scientific conferences each year at various locations. During 2002, meetings will be held in California (winter), Hong Kong (spring), Italy (spring), New England (summer), Oxford (summer and fall), and Japan (summer).

Through a grant from the David & Lucile Packard Foundation, GRC has limited funds for faculty, postdocs, and students from eligible institutions with significant minority enrollment to attend a Gordon Conference. Interested applicants will need to apply and be accepted to the conference by the conference chair. If accepted, $600 will be available to the applicant to participate in the meeting.

For further information about the program, please e-mail Gerri Miceli, program manager, at gmiceli@grc.org. Additional information on GRC and a listing of 2002 conferences can be found on the GRC Web site or in the 15 February 2002 issue of Science.
