Want to help your fellow young scientists? Interested in gaining experience off the bench?

Then become a Next Wave campus representative! We are looking for enthusiastic scientists across Europe (European Science Foundation member countries) to help us offer career-related information to early-career scientists--undergraduates, PhDs, and postdocs. Help your fellows and colleagues to get the career information they need, while you gain experience in Web site promotion, networking, and organising activities.

Additionally, we will provide you with a Science letterhead reference letter from the Editorial Director of Science's Next Wave highlighting your work over the period.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide Next Wave with updated contact information for key individuals on your campus (e.g., dean of studies, faculty directors, etc)

  • Ensure links to Next Wave are on appropriate university Web pages (e.g., the career services home page)

  • Distribute and post Next Wave posters and flyers on campus bulletin boards

  • Increase awareness of Next Wave by meeting with the (under)graduate student or postdoctoral organisations and with faculty members

  • Provide Next Wave with feedback about the site and its contents

  • Inform Next Wave about careers events and seminars on the campus

  • Provide assistance at local Next Wave events
