Kelly Suter

Kelly Suter is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She received her B.S. in Chemistry and B.A. in Biology from West Virginia University. She also received a Masters in Physiology from West Virginia. In 1995, she completed her Ph.D. at the University of Pittsburgh and subsequently held a post-doctoral appointment at Colorado State University. She was a post-doctoral fellow and research assistant professor at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.

Kelly uses electrophysiological and computational approaches to understand neuronal function. The focus of her research efforts is to elucidate the mechanisms that account for the intermittent secretion of the decapeptide, gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) from the GnRH-containing neurons of the hypothalamus.
