As seen in the 30 January issue of Science: DECIPHERING LUNG DISEASE IN THE GENOMIC ERA: Scientific Breakthroughs of the Year This special research symposium will focus on recent scientific innovations and their applications to lung biology and lung disease. Keynote speakers Kári Stefánsson, M.D., CEO of deCODE Genetics in Reykjavik, Iceland, and Eric Schadt, Ph.D., executive scientific director of genetics at Rosetta Inpharmatics, in Seattle, will discuss cutting-edge genomics research. The session will also highlight outstanding research abstracts nominated by ATS Assemblies. Registration for the 2009 ATS International Conference is now open. FROM BENCH TO BEDSIDE ATS 2009 * San Diego California MAY 15-20 REGISTER TODAY FOR THE AMERICAN THORACIC SOCIETY’S INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE, THE WORLD’S PREMIER EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM FOR CLINICIANS AND RESEARCHERS IN ADULT AND PEDIATRIC PULMONARY, CRITICAL CARE AND SLEEP MEDICINE. Scientists from nearly 100 countries are expected to participate in the 2009 ATS International Conference. They will present and discuss the latest findings in respiratory molecular and cell biology, lung structure and function, inflammatory biology and gene therapy.
