It's almost graduation time, and no doubt some of you will be graduating and looking for a job. So first of all, if you're graduating--congratulations! Second of all, if you haven't already, you might need to get cracking on that job search.
Before you start, it's always helpful to go over some job-search tips. And the Creative Job Search page is not a bad place to start. This page is produced by the Minnesota Department of Economic Security. That in itself is reassuring--who better to provide you with job-search tips than a department of economic security.
The site is split into eight sections: transition, job-search preparation, skills identification, résumés and cover letters, job-search tools, job-search process, the job interview, and finishing touches. Some of the sections, such as the transition section, are a little touchy-feely; other sections, such as the one on résumés and cover letters, provide the nuts-and-bolts advice as well as résumé worksheets in PDF format that will help you put together an award-winning résumé.
This site is definitely worth taking a look at if you're beginning the job search or if you've been at it for a while and need a morale boost.
